Nimble Performance: Clinical Care, Strength and Conditioning and Long-Term Performance in Clevedon
Sometimes, Treatment Alone Isn’t Enough
Pain often returns when the body no longer has the strength, movement control or physical resilience to cope with the demands being placed on it. Treatment can settle a flare-up, but if the underlying capacity is not rebuilt, the problem tends to come back.
Nimble Performance bridges that gap. We combine hands-on treatment with long-term physical capability, developed through clinically guided movement and strength coaching, so you are not just out of pain today but better equipped to stay that way.
The Nimble Movement Pathway: Strength and Rehabilitation in Clevedon
1. Understand the problem
We start with a proper clinical assessment. Zac looks at how you move, where your movement is limited, how you load your body and what is holding your performance back, so we know exactly what we are working on and why.
2. Restore movement and confidence
Next comes hands-on treatment, mobility work and targeted rehabilitation to improve the quality of your movement and reduce any fear or guarding that has built up after pain or injury.
3. Build resilience and strength
With better movement in place, we build genuine, usable strength through clinically guided, progressive loading. The focus is on strength, control, balance and physical robustness that holds up in real life.
4. Return to doing what you love
The goal throughout is capability: running, lifting, golf, hiking, cycling, gardening, sport and everyday life, done with more confidence and far less worry about the next flare-up.
Movement Repatterning and Functional Assessment
At the heart of the pathway is our functional assessment, carried out in the gym space at our Clevedon clinic. Zac takes you through a series of stripped-back movements to look at your posture, coordination, balance, control and body awareness. From there, he builds an individual plan that develops a solid movement foundation and reduces the risk of further injury.
Think of it as relearning a skill. Very few of us are ever taught how to move well, and after pain, injury or surgery it often needs to be taught, or retaught, properly. Over a course of sessions you can expect better body awareness, improved flexibility and strength, and the resolution of the cautious, fearful movement patterns that hold so many people back.

Why Nimble Performance Exists
Nimble Performance is led by Zac Beard, a registered osteopath and Strength and Conditioning coach with more than 17 years of clinical experience helping people overcome pain, injury and movement limitations. Zac originally worked as a personal trainer before qualifying as an osteopath, and that combination of clinical knowledge and hands-on exercise experience is exactly what Nimble Performance is built on.
After years working clinically with people experiencing recurring pain and injury, Zac saw the same pattern again and again: many people needed more than short-term symptom relief. They needed to rebuild the strength and movement capacity that would keep the problem from coming back. Nimble Performance was created to bridge that gap, combining treatment, rehabilitation and long-term physical resilience through clinically guided movement and strength coaching.
Zac has a particular interest in helping men over 45 return to fitness or rehabilitate injuries through exercise, alongside low back pain, sciatica, postural complaints, recurrent injuries and scoliosis. He especially enjoys working with active people, runners and gym-goers, as well as those who have drifted away from exercise through pain, injury or the demands of life.
