Hand, Wrist, Elbow and Shoulder

Don’t just put up with pain in your arm and shoulder, let our osteopaths help you

Upper limb pain rarely occurs in isolation as we use our arms for so many actions in everyday life. Whether you’ve had a fracture, injured yourself doing sport, or developed an overuse or arthritic complaint, our osteopaths can help resolve your pain and restore your normal function.

Common conditions affecting the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder that we see in clinic are:

  • rotator cuff tears or strains
  • tennis elbow or golfer’s elbow
  • trigger finger
  • carpal tunnel
  • frozen shoulder
  • Arthritic pain and weakness in the fingers and wrists
  • Wrist tendonitis
  • ‘Tech thumb’
  • Rehabilitating upper limb fractures after immobilisation/operation

What your pain might feel like

This will vary depending on the cause. You might experience pain in one of these common ways: aching, burning or tingling pain, numbness, heaviness and weakness. Pain might be sharp and movement is often limited. Upper limb problems invariably affect everyday activities, especially when your dominant arm is affected.

How we treat hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder pain

We’ll start by working out the cause of your discomfort by performing common orthopaedic tests. We’ll then put together a treatment plan. We prescribe exercises to do yourself and give you advice on improving your posture. We might take you into our gym for a more dynamic approach to shoulder pain or postural recovery.
