If you have a busy and stressful lifestyle, you enjoy regularly exercising or indeed are training for a specific goal, massage is an excellent therapy to include in your self care toolkit to help you unwind, to keep your muscles and joints healthy and to improve your recovery time, helping you to get back out there sooner and with more energy.

What Style Of Massage Is Right For Me?

There are many different forms of massage, what that actually means is that there are many different massage techniques or tools that the masseur has in their toolkit to promote different responses by the body, for example (list non-exhaustive);
  • Muscle recovery after exercise
  • Preparation for exercise
  • Improved muscle health
  • Body wide relaxation
At Nimble we offer two different styles of massage; Sports Massage and Remedial Massage.

Sports Massage in Clevedon

Sports massage is aimed at those who are regularly exercising and want help in supporting muscle recovery speed, or those struggling with a sports injury* (please book in for an initial sports injury assessment first).

Regular sports massage helps improve muscle health through promoting the circulation of blood (fuel/nutrients in) and lymph (waste out), meaning your muscles are better prepared / more recovered for exercise.

Sports massage techniques include; effleurage (long stroking massage), kneading, frictions (short deep massage strokes), myofascial release (addresses ‘knots’ or trigger points), dynamic stretching, and percussion (rhythmic strikes over large muscles). Our masseurs are also trained to utilise dry needling acupuncture and (sports) taping when applicable.

Our masseurs trained to diagnose, treat and rehabilitate sports injuries* such as tendonitis, muscular sprains, strains, tears etc.

* if you are experiencing any weakness, numbness or tingling, or if your medical/injury history is complex please book in to see an osteopath for an Initial Consultation instead.
